The Laundromat (2020)
Sitespecific artwork for Misschiefs takeover

Who do we rise statues for? Which stories are the ones that make it into the history books and archives? On Linnégatan in Stockholm there was a laundromat, when they were sold on the premises were empty. With the help of curator Paola Bjäringer, I sought out the women who had worked at the site for over 15 years before the laundry was sold on.

Through this site-specific work, the women's bodies and stories have once again taken place in the venue. An attempt to make visible again those who are usually erased from places when the city is changing. The work consists of two parts, the photographs printed on transparent film that reflects the womens faces on the now empty building and an audio work with accompanying text available digitally.
